The Working at Height course consists of 4 core units, concluded by a final exam.
UNIT 1 – WORKING AT HEIGHT LEGISLATION.
UNIT 2 – RISK ASSESSMENT.
UNIT 3 – HIERARCHY OF CONTROLS.
UNIT 4 – WORK LOCATION ISSUES.
The Slips Trips and Falls at Work course consist of 3 core units, concluded by a final exam:
UNIT 1 – THE LAW.
UNIT 2 – THE CAUSE.
UNIT 3 – PREVENTION.
COURSE AIMS.
By the end of the Manual Handling in the Workplace course learners should be able to:
- Define manual handling.
- State relevant legislation.
- Describe the basic anatomy of the spine.
- Apply the principles of safe lifting when completing the practical examination.
By the end of the Working at Height course learners should understand:
- The meaning of work at height.
- What do the regulations cover?
- Work at height risk assessment procedures.
- Controls measures and their implementation.
- Specific work location issues.
By the end of the Slips Trips and Falls at Work course learners will be able to:
- Recognise slip, trip and fall hazards in the workplace.
